Washington, D.C. – Lisa Jacobson, President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), offered the following statement in response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s announcement of $20 billion in grants to finance clean energy and energy efficiency projects across the country:
“Today’s announcement is an important step in implementing the energy efficiency and clean energy investments of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act through public-private partnerships. The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund will be instrumental in providing new public and private capital for projects that reduce emissions, improve air quality, and enhance the affordability and resilience of energy equipment, products, and services.
“BCSE commends EPA for directing at least 70 percent of the announced funds to low-income and disadvantaged communities, paving the way for households to affordably adopt energy efficiency and clean energy technologies. BCSE looks forward to continuing to work with the Administration to ensure the efficient implementation of clean energy funding that will advance the energy transition.”
