Meet the BCSE Staff

 

Lisa Jacobson

President

Lisa Jacobson is the President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy, a 65-member trade association representing the energy efficiency, natural gas, and renewable energy industries. Lisa has over 20 years of experience advising federal and state policymakers on energy, tax, air quality, and climate change issues.

Lisa has testified before Congress and has represented energy industries before the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Prior to her position with BCSE, Lisa was a legislative aide in the U.S. Congress. She has a master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Vermont.

Laura Tierney

Vice President, International Programs

Laura Tierney is the Vice President of International Programs for the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and also manages BCSE’s external communications. Laura holds a Masters of International Environmental Policy and China from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) at the University of California, San Diego; and an undergraduate degree in Asian Studies from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.

Emmy Deignan

Manager, Policy and programs

Emmy Deignan is the Manager of Policy and Programs for the Business Council for Sustainable Energy, where she manages member programming for BCSE’s core advocacy areas, and conducts member outreach, policy research, and organizational assistance for BCSE’s international advocacy work. Prior to joining BCSE, Emmy worked on energy and sustainability policy advisory at Albright Stonebridge Group. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia and studied at the University of Virginia’s Batten School, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Public Policy & Leadership with a second major in Environmental Practice.
