WASHINGTON, D.C. — On the first day of National Clean Energy Week (NCEW), Lisa Jacobson, President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), issued the following statement:
“National Clean Energy Week provides a critical platform for industry to engage with policymakers as Congress works to pass a federal permitting reform package and to finalize the federal budget for energy research, development, deployment, and demonstration initiatives.
“The current permitting timelines to bring new energy projects online are holding back our country’s ability to meet increasing electricity demand. Policy can help to shorten these timelines and address bottlenecks.
“The U.S. energy sector is ready and equipped with the solutions to meet energy demand affordability, reliability and sustainably. Predictable and durable policy leadership from Governors, state legislators, and Congress can send the exact signal we need to truly unleash American energy abundance.”
BCSE is a proud sponsor of NCEW and looks forward to continue its partnership with Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) and other industry allies to drive solutions-oriented conversations about American energy policy.
At the NCEW Policy Symposium, Jacobson will moderate a panel on Wednesday, September 16 from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. ET, Leading the Way: Investing in American Jobs and Industrial Growth. Register for the conference here.
