Washington, D.C. – The Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and the Clean Energy Business Network (CEBN) commend House passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. The historic legislation will join recent bipartisan actions on the CHIPS+ Act and the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in diversifying the U.S. energy economy, creating a renaissance in domestic manufacturing, and protecting our national security interests.
“With nearly $370 billion in funding for climate, clean energy, and energy efficiency provisions, the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act cannot be understated,” said BCSE President Lisa Jacobson. “This sweeping legislation provides new opportunities to fight inflation, reduce energy costs for American families and businesses, and create good paying jobs across the country. We commend the clean energy advocates in both the House and the Senate for successfully crafting an agreement that includes both climate change provisions and the clean energy and energy efficiency tax package. We are excited to see this promising legislation reach the President’s desk.”
“With the House passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, our country takes a monumental step forward in addressing climate change and fostering a more secure energy future,” said CEBN President Lynn Abramson. “This package will catalyze cleantech deployment at scale and bring down the cost of advanced clean energy, efficiency, and transportation technologies. Families and businesses across the country stand to benefit through reduced energy costs and good-paying jobs.”
