Foreign Pollution Fee Act of 2025 Will Boost American Competitiveness
April 9, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Lisa Jacobson, President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), offered the following statement in response to the introduction of the Foreign Pollution Fee Act of 2025 by Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC):

“American manufacturers and producers abide by some of the cleanest and most responsible production standards in the world. This legislation will capitalize on the U.S. advantage in manufacturing and energy production with lower greenhouse gas emissions and hold competitors accountable for their comparative lack of environmental standards.

“Prioritizing cleanliness and responsible production will enhance U.S. competitiveness, boost manufacturing, and create new jobs. BCSE looks forward to working with Congress as it considers this legislation as well as other measures that will advance the American energy expansion at the federal and international levels.”
