BCSE Statement in Support of the PROVE IT Act
July 9, 2024

Washington, D.C. – Lisa Jacobson, President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), offered the following statement in response to today’s introduction of the Providing Reliable, Objective, Verifiable Emissions Intensity and Transparency (PROVE IT) Act in the U.S. House of Representatives:

“BCSE believes that the publication of a U.S. Department of Energy carbon intensity study, and the other data collection required by the PROVE IT Act, will be an important tool to demonstrate that industries in the United States produce high quality products, with low carbon emissions.

“This bipartisan initiative will provide the data necessary to accelerate the deployment of U.S. clean energy technologies and solutions to global markets, boosting our nation’s energy security and economic growth. BCSE supports its enactment and applauds the efforts of Representatives John Curtis (R-UT-03) and Scott Peters (D-CA-50) to craft this thoughtful legislation.”

BCSE previously sent a letter of support to Senators Chris Coons (D-DE) and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) in response to Senate advancement of the PROVE IT Act in January 2024.
