Washington, D.C. – Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) president Lisa Jacobson offered the following statement in response to the White House announcements of executive actions to combat extreme heat and expand the nation’s capacity to deliver Americans home-grown clean energy.
“The Business Council for Sustainable Energy applauds President Biden’s announcement today of executive actions to address climate change.
“Making climate-smart investments is a win-win for American households and businesses alike as it will improve the resilience of our communities and move us towards our greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.
“American clean energy industries have the technology solutions that are called upon in today’s announcement – from air conditioners to offshore wind turbines – and their deployment will offer relief from rising temperatures and create jobs that will bolster our economic and energy security.
“The best preventative measure against the impacts of climate change remains the enactment of durable legislation that will support the continued growth of clean energy and energy efficiency businesses in America.”
