BCSE Discusses Climate Action With U.S. Governors at the COP 30 Local Leaders Forum
November 4, 2025

U.S. states, cities, and businesses are driving the energy transition forward — and are bringing these commitments and accomplishments to the global stage.

On November 4, BCSE President Lisa Jacobson represented the business community at the COP 30 Local Leaders Forum in Rio de Janeiro, sharing the stage with Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, CA Secretary of Natural Resources Wade Crowfoot, and COP 30 Special Envoy Jonathan Pershing.

The speakers discussed how across the United States, the energy transition is an opportunity to create new jobs, invest in local communities, lower energy costs, and improve resiliency in the face of extreme weather. Success comes down to seizing this opportunity. Public-private partnerships at the state and local level are key to deploying the broad portfolio of energy solutions needed to keep the lights on and meet climate goals.

Special thanks to America Is All In and Bloomberg Philanthropies for convening this key event on the road to COP.
