BCSE Statement in Response to Senate Passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act
June 2, 2023

Washington, D.C. – Lisa Jacobson, President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), offered the following statement in response to Senate passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act:

“BCSE commends Congress for passing federal permitting reform provisions in the Fiscal Responsibility Act. This legislation marks an important first step in enacting the reforms needed to speed up the energy transition.

“However, there is still more to be done. The modernization and expansion of energy infrastructure is critical to providing secure and reliable energy to the American people and to delivering on the potential of the Inflation Reduction Act and the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. BCSE looks forward to working with Congress and the Biden Administration to build upon this progress and enact further bipartisan legislation this year.”
