BCSE Statement on Biden Administration’s Executive
Actions to Accelerate Domestic Clean Energy Manufacturing

Washington, D.C. – The Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) released the following statement today in response to the Biden Administration’s executive actions to support domestic clean energy manufacturing.

“The BCSE commends the Biden Administration for its decision to use executive action to provide a two-year safe harbor period whereby any potential new duties on solar products would be suspended. This action provides needed certainty to the market as the Auxin inquiry continues.

“The decision today will help to reverse a significant slowdown in solar deployment this year, at a time when the solar industry can play a critical role in supporting the reliability of the electric grid, lowering consumer energy bills, and employing hundreds of thousands of American workers.

“With regard to the authorization of the Defense Production Act (DPA) to spur more domestic manufacturing of clean energy technologies, it will be critical that industry be engaged with the Department of Energy as it considers any DPA related actions.”
