About the American Energy Abundance Alliance
America needs affordable, reliable energy now – and the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE)’s coalition represents the broad portfolio of energy technologies that are ready to hit the ground running.
The American Energy Abundance Alliance initiative is an initiative of the BCSE that is focused on America’s energy prosperity. The coalition aims to unleash U.S. energy resources to lower costs, increase national security, boost economic competitiveness, and protect the environment.
Under this initiative, BCSE will be leading state education and outreach to connect energy business leaders with policymakers, highlighting key policy issues and industry-supported solutions. This will build on past work with policymakers and industry experts around the country.
Areas of Focus
Over the next decade, solutions in the energy efficiency, renewable energy, natural gas, energy storage, power grid, and sustainable fuels sectors will continue to grow. These will be the energy resources available to meet growing energy demand through demand- and supply-side energy technologies.
There are continued barriers to achieving U.S. energy dominance:
- Long and bureaucratic permitting and siting processes and approvals for energy infrastructure and projects
- Regulatory obstacles and outdated market rules that impede price signals for energy sector innovation, investment, and modernization
- Energy supply chain constraints
- Lack of available workers
It is critical that policymakers at all levels of government support regulatory reforms, technical assistance to states and localities, and innovative RDD&D. This is vital to ensure that the U.S. retains its competitive edge in energy technologies, products, and services.
