Petra Solar and PSEG to Produce World’s Largest Pole-Attached Solar Installation

Petra Solar and Public Service Enterprise Group to Produce World’s Largest Pole-Attached Solar Installation

(July 31, 2009—Washington, DC)

Two BCSE board member companies are partnering to produce what will be the largest pole-attached solar installation in the world.

Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), a diversified energy company based in Newark, NJ, and Petra Solar Inc., a leading provider of innovative photovoltaic (PV) solutions, received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) on Thursday to produce and install 200,000 pole-mounted, grid-connected smart solar systems on PSE&G utility poles and street light poles.  The 40 megawatt project is part of a larger $515 million investment being made by PSEG as part of its Solar 4 All program.

The joint PSEG-Petra project will create more than 100 jobs throughout New Jersey and is slated to be completed in 2013.
