As the world’s attention turns to the 20th anniversary of the first Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this report will help policymakers create enabling environments and the investment climate needed to accelerate the deployment of energy efficiency in buildings around the world. A major component of the Rio+20 Conference, to be held June 13-22, will be an effort to galvanize support of the UN Secretary General’s Susthttp://www.uncsd2012.org/rio20/ainable Energy for All initiative. One of its three main objectives is to double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency by 2030, and this report is a tangible tool to help countries and communities achieving this goal.
