NRG Energy joins the Business Council for Sustainable Energy
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) announced a new member: NRG Energy, a Fortune 500 integrated power and consumer services company.
“It is fantastic to have NRG as a partner in our efforts to educate and advocate for sustainable energy solutions, as Congress and President Biden work to secure our energy future,” said Emily Duncan, BCSE Chairman of the Board and head of the Washington office for National Grid US.
“The call to decarbonize our economy is expanding. NRG has a long-standing commitment to reducing carbon emissions and remains focused towards achieving a net-zero emissions goal by 2050,” said Robert Gaudette, Senior Vice President of NRG Energy, Inc. “This is a key time to be part of the national policy discussion to advance clean energy’s progress. We look forward to joining the conversation as part of the BCSE and continuing to support our customers and local communities with sustainable energy solutions today and into the future.”
“Energy efficiency, natural gas and renewable energy are complementary elements of America’s energy system and are pillars of our economy today,” said Lisa Jacobson, BCSE President. “We are glad to have NRG joining our coalition. Mr. Gaudette will be a featured speaker at our annual membership meeting, sharing his insights as the manager of the largest B2B retail gas and power platform and one of the top three largest providers of demand response in North America.”
