Making the Case for Extending Clean Energy Tax Incentives

Tax policy is a crucial vehicle for advancing our nation's clean energy objectives, creating jobs, and bolstering America's manufacturing sectors. As stated in the Council's most recent tax policy factsheet:

"Affordable, homegrown and clean energy sources are powering the U.S. economy with jobs and investment, and promoting the security and diversity of our energy supply. Stable tax policy provides predictable market conditions and is needed to enable clean energy businesses to grow, reduce costs and attract investment. Congress should extend clean energy tax incentives which drive economic growth, promote global competitiveness, and energy security."

The factsheet expands to discuss how long-term tax policy can help keep electricity rates low and how federal clean energy programs help mobilize private investment.
