Enel Green Power Begins Oklahoma Wind Farm Construction
BCSE member Enel Green Power North America is partnering with TradeWind Energy to construct the Rocky Ridge wind farm in Kiowa and Washita counties.
The 18,000 acre wind farm will occupy space leased from 75 landowners, will consist of 93 wind turbines and will generate approximately 630 million kWh annually. The wind farm is expected to produce enough power to supply approximately 55,000 US households and avoid 470,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The project will also generate around 150 construction and 10 operation, maintenance and administration jobs.
The Rocky Ridge project has a power purchase agreement with the Western Farmers Electric Cooperative. Total project investment is estimated at $250 million.
