US Businesses Urge Strong Paris Agreement to Increase Clean Energy Investment
Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Natural Gas Industries Talk Climate Action and
Call on Parties to Create Market Signals from Paris Agreement

The Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) will host a press conference on Tuesday, December 8 at 1:00 pm CET to issue a call to action to governments to create strong signals for clean energy investment in the Paris climate change agreement. Press conference participants will also discuss the actions taken by these companies and sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Speakers will share their views on the critical elements needed in the Paris agreement to increase clean energy deployment and financial flows. This includes discussion on issues related to the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs), the reporting and evaluation procedures to ensure transparency, technology cooperation, market-based mechanisms and opportunities for business participation in the post-Paris regime. Speakers will also discuss recent announcements on climate action by these companies and associations.
