Call to Congress to Advance Clean Energy Policy and Economic Stimulus
Business Coalition Letter Identifies Priorities for Final Weeks of 116th Congress
Washington, D.C. –The Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) released a letter today outlining the clean energy industry coalition’s priorities for congressional action in the final weeks of the 116th Congress. President Lisa Jacobson issued the following statement regarding the coalition’s priorities:
“Before closing out the 116th Congress, the Business Council for Sustainable Energy urges Congress to finish its work in several key areas critical to clean energy deployment. The committees of jurisdiction in both houses have made strides towards smart and durable legislation, which is more urgent than ever as the clean energy industries work to recover pre-pandemic levels of employment and growth.
“While BCSE is a diverse business coalition and there are a range of priorities and positions for individual clean energy industries, these measures will be an important step to help spur investment and create jobs across clean energy industries.”
Among the actions supported by energy efficiency, natural gas and renewable energy industries are robust funding for clean energy programs across the federal government, bipartisan energy legislation, and extending and updating clean energy tax policy.
