BCSE Speaks at EPA Public Hearing on Carbon Dioxide Limit from New Power Plants
On Thursday, February 6, 2014 BCSE’s Policy Associate, Zoe Berkery testified at the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) public hearing on the proposed carbon pollution standards for new power plants in Washington D.C. The hearing, held at EPA’s William Jefferson Clinton Building East, was well attended with organizations from a multitude of sectors and interests testifying before a number of EPA officials.
EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy announced the proposed carbon pollution standard for new power plants on September 20th of last year and BCSE released this statement following the announcement. The new source rule officially entered the Federal Registeron January 8th and the deadline for comments is March 10, 2014.
