BCSE President Lisa Jacobson Opens Climate Week NYC Discussing Energy Security
Washington, D.C. – Lisa Jacobson, President of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), explained that clean energy is secure energy during the opening ceremony of Climate Week NYC in New York City on Monday, September 19.
“While moving towards deep decarbonization technologies, we need to implement public-private partnerships using the diverse set of clean energy and energy efficiency technologies we have today,” she said.
Jacobson was joined by international climate leaders including the Hon. Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy of the Australian Federal Government; Francesco La Camera, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency; and Mathias Lelievre, Chief Executive Officer, ENGIE Impact. The panel, moderated by Bill Ritter, former governor of Colorado and U.S. Board Chair for Climate Group, discussed how best to transition toward clean energy sources while providing energy access and security of energy supply.
“We are all concerned about the couple years ahead and how we are moving into the energy transition while we are having these geopolitical and energy challenges, but I do not hear any companies around my table moving away from that north star of the clean energy transition,” Jacobson said.
Jacobson will also be moderating a panel at 2 p.m. ET on Monday, September 19 titled “Charting Pathways to Green Jobs.” Jacobson will also be leading BCSE’s delegation to the Global Clean Energy Action Forum in Pittsburgh, PA from September 21 - 23. Please contact BCSE for details on either event.
