BCSE Praises Bipartisan RES, Reiterates Pressing Need for Clean Energy Policies
Washington, DC —The Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE)—a coalition of leading clean energy companies and trade associations—released the following statement from BCSE President Lisa Jacobson in reaction to today’s introduction by Senators Bingaman, Dorgan, Brownback, Collins, and Tom Udall of a stand-alone Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) bill:
“Today’s announcement is very encouraging. The BCSE stands ready to work with this bipartisan group of Senators and any and all others who understand that the country that leads in clean energy innovation and deployment over the next decade will be the one to lead the 21st century global economy. A national RES will drive investments now sitting on the sidelines into America’s clean energy industries. It will reinvigorate our manufacturing sector, energize our economy, and help clean our air.
“We need to move forward now on critical clean energy policies and incentives. The BCSE and its allies thank Senators Bingaman, Dorgan, Brownback, Collins, and Tom Udall for their leadership and look forward to working with them to enact a national RES as soon as possible.”
