BCSE and Excellence in Education
Sixth grade science students at George Washington Middle School 1 in Alexandria, Virginia have been learning about various forms of energy as well as energy technologies, and have been creating their own virtual sustainable cities in class. However, both the teachers and students were anxious to learn about clean energy in the “real” world so members of BC SE visited the school to share information about some of the exciting commercially available clean energy technologies in the Council’s membership.
About 200 GWMS1 students listened attentively to Ruth McCormick, BCSE; Scott Hennessey, Solar City; and Connor Dolan, Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association and asked thoughtful questions about clean energy technologies. In fact, there were so many questions it was not possible to field them all.
BCSE applauds the students for their enthusiasm and encourages their continued study of energy and science!
